Rapper and beatboxer Rahzel, who’s performing tomorrow night, spoke with AM New York about his involvement with Tibet House, which started when he was on tour with The Beastie Boys. Rahzel says he hopes the concert will inspire people to research what Tibet House does around the world and support their cause. Read the full interview here.
“You can learn a lot listening to different kinds of music,” he adds, and tomorrow’s lineup should offer that. Along with Rahzel, Philip Glass, Jim James (from My Morning Jacket), Patti Smith and her band, Tenzin Choegyal, Ariel Pink, and tUnE-yArDs are all scheduled for perform. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Uma Thurman will host.
