On Saturday, June 27, Buddhist Churches of America is presenting a half-day seminar on LGBTQ in Shin Buddhism. Shin Buddhist ministers have been conducting same-sex marriages for at least 40 years, and Shin organizations have long supported equal rights for the gay community.

The event is geared towards people who wish to hear “how Shin Buddhism can offer an enduring community of inclusiveness and acceptance.” The seminar, “Embraced by the Heart of Amida Buddha: The LGBTQ Community & Shin Buddhism,” runs from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the New York Buddhist Church. Presenters include Dr. Jeff Wilson, Rev. Kurt Rye, Rev. Earl Ikeda, and more. It costs $40. Click here for more info and to register, or check out the event on Facebook.
