After last May’s meetings of Buddhists at the White House, the group and website Buddhists for Racial Justice — “an emerging national network of Buddhist practitioners and communities from across Buddhist traditions and racial, ethnic, and cultural background” — created a Call to White Buddhists for Racial Justice. Now BRJ announces that a complimentary Call for Buddhist Practitioners of Color to Solidarity for Racial Justice will be released on June 15th.
About the Call, BRJ says, “The Call for Buddhist Practitioners of Color is a landmark event for engaging religious communities around one of the most important issues of our time. It was carefully crafted by a multi-lineage, multi-racial group of Buddhist practitioners of color to enable the much-needed conditions of safety, reconciliation, and healing for communities of color, Buddhist and non-Buddhists alike. ”
Lion’s Roar plans to publish the Call when it is released.
