As was reported earlier this week on Mindful.org, the Canadian government has seen fit to invest in mindfulness training.
It’s a development that could be considered emblematic of mindfulness practice’s efficacy—and increasing adoption—for treating stress.
Via the Winnipeg Free Press:
Senior officials [in the Federal Justice Department] have ordered two nine-week programs, in each official language, that ‘will help individuals to deal more effectively with difficult thought and emotions that can leave you feeling stuck in everyday life.’
The program will stress ‘mindfulness,’ which the department describes as ‘the practice of paying attention to the present moment, with acceptance and compassion.’
The WFP reports that the Justice Department has set a $23,000 contract and is already considering allowances for more funds. “The beneficial effects of this program are well documented,” said a JD spokesperson. More here, and at Mindful News.
Probably was a card carrying Canadian Liberal. In that case he will probably be dead before you get him back. The whole Judicial System is Card-Carrying Liberals.
This is a riduculous assertion.
I love Canada.
