In his Shambhala Sun profile of Joan Didion – the great American novelist – David Swick explored Didion’s renown, her thoughts about death, and her relationship to Zen. Now, Didion’s nephew, Griffine Dunne, points out the absurdity that Didion’s life –one of great accomplishment, tragedy and brilliance – hasn’t yet been chronicled in a documentary.
In a powerful call on Kickstarter (see below), Dunne – a filmmaker – asked for $80,000 to produce such a documentary. Two days later, donations have blown past that goal. If you want to contribute, you still can, though film is now completely funded. Nonethless, watch the video below and visit the Kickstarter page to learn more about the project.
