In 2013 a group of American artists and filmmakers journeyed for more than 16,000 miles across Himalayan Asia, tracing the life of Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche. This 8th century Indian Buddhist master known as a “Second Buddha” is widely revered for bringing Buddhism to Tibet.
The film-making team travelled through Mongolia, Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India compiling footage, photographs, poetry, dance, interviews, and stories for their feature-length documentary, Precious Guru: Journey into the Wild Heart of the Second Buddha.
Now the film’s director, Marc Wennberg, and Triptych Journey have launched an Indiegogo campaign which closes on December 12, with a goal to raise $30,000 to help complete the film.
