Born’s new song is a shot of grounding inspiration right when we all could use it.

From rapper/musician/meditation teacher Born I Music (aka Ofosu Jones-Quartey) comes a new song and video, “In This Moment.” I’m pleased we get to get to share this with you—it’s a shot of grounding inspiration right when we all could use it. Watch the first video for the song — with more to come— here.

Talking about the song for a coming episode of The Lion’s Roar Podcast, Born told me:

“‘In This Moment’ is a song that reflects kind of where I was right before the pandemic, but the themes in it have really helped me through the pandemic. It’s a song essentially about suffering and finding a path out of suffering and, you know, I’m taking time to sort of explore the issues that I’ve had with my own mental health, with substances, et cetera, in the past.

“And I’m finally getting to a place where I really wanted to look inward and make a change.”

“In This Moment” is now available on various streaming platforms, released via Born’s recording imprint, YAE — which stands for, in typical positive Born fashion, “You Are Enough.”
