The Mind Body Awareness (MBA) Project is sending a handwritten holiday card to every incarcerated Bay Area youth for #GivingTuesday, and you can participate.
The MBA Project is an Oakland-based organization that teaches mindfulness, emotional intelligence and mental health skills and techniques to high-risk and incarcerated youth. They’re celebrating #GivingTuesday by inviting you to share words of encouragement with youth inside juvenile hall, for their project titled “#GivingMindfulness.”
Handwritten cards answering the question “When you’re in a hard place, how do you free your mind?” will be delivered to youth inside juvenile hall facilities throughout the Bay Area on December 20th. Last year, over 300 cards were delivered to youth incarcerated at the Alameda County Juvenile Justice Center.
Sign up to participate in #GivingMindfulness on The MBA Project’s website, and you’ll receive a card to be mailed back by December 12th.
