Rod Meade Sperry interviews rapper and musician Born I Music (aka Born Infinite) about how Buddhist meditation has influenced his music.
Washington DC-based rapper and musician Born I Music (aka Born Infinite) is notable not just for his talent but for the way he smartly mixed rap and spirituality during his tenure in the rap duo known as Shambhala.
Now Born has gone solo with an album called Tomorrow Is Today, and is trying new things musically — but his study and practice of Buddhist meditation still informs his work, both in his songs and in his life outside the studio and stage.
Born talked to me about it all in this Lion’s Roar Audio clip (which was recorded back when Lion’s Roar was known as Shambhala Sun).

Peace Born . I am so happy I found your link! Been a fan of Shambhala The Silent Dragons and I just found out about your solo project and I am so happy you are doing your thing. I appreciate your authenticity and the realness, humble vibe, which allows your fans to relate to you as a human, a family man, a brother, who strives for elevation just like everyone. I appreciate the works you do especially for the youths. Will definitely cop the album fosho and now that I found your site, will be easier to know updates about your works. Will keep my ears out for the youth music/project you pushin, and hopefully another Shambhala project:) I'd like to know if you will be performing in LA so I can support. Big ups to you and I'm sending out a prayer for more peace and blessings to come your way and to the whole fam. Nuff Love and Respect. Peace
