Contemplative photography is a method for working with the contemplative state of mind, seeing the world in fresh ways, and expressing this experience photographically. Each week we choose an image that’s been submitted to seeingfresh.com that really exemplifies this practice.
The subject of this week’s photo, by Miguel Berredo, is just a tree. But seen in this particular light, at just this moment, it’s a completely fresh perception. It’s a good example of seeing the world in a fresh way.

Lovely shot. I was struck when I first glimpsed it how much it looked like the internal structures in the lungs. A tree breathes in co2, we breathe it out. hmmm. 🙂
Here in Brazil the ipe yellow (yellow ipe) blooms in September, but it flourished in December, City Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. Thanks Erin, Miguel Berredo
This yellow ipe is a precious tree for people who live in Petropolis – everybody expect the flowers and we know that we haveonly 4 or 5 days to admire and pehaps, for someone, contemplate it – marvelous Miguel Berredo
