Here on LionsRoar.com we’ve recently shared two new tracks from rapper, musician, and meditation teacher Born I, and today we’re sharing a third. “Unenlightened” is the third single from Born I’s upcoming album, In This Moment.

Produced by longtime collaborator Linz Prag (who produced Born I’s first single this year), “Unenlightened” is another example of what Born I calls “trap music for meditators,” describing it as both “gangster and spiritual.” In it, Born reflects on the potential for everyone to grow into their higher self (“from a seed to a lotus you can transform”), while acknowledging the shortness of life and thus his sense of spiritual urgency: “I don’t want to die unenlightened.”

“On this record I’m looking at my life, where I’ve come from, where I am now, and where I want to be, Born tells Lion’s Roar. “Life is shorter than we think but we all have the power to transform and heal ourselves.”
