I’m a Lion’s Roar magazine subscriber. Do I get access to the website?

If you have a Print + Digital or a Digital-Only subscription, your subscription now includes unlimited access to and the new subscriber-only content collections. Since we migrated your account to a new system to facilitate access, you’ll need to reset your password to complete your account update. To reset your password, visit

If you have a Print-Only subscription to Lion’s Roar magazine, your current subscription does not include digital access. If you would like to change your subscription type to include digital content please contact us and we can assist you.

I’m an email newsletter subscriber. Do I get access to the website?

No, unlimited access to the website is only available to paid subscribers to our Print+Digital or Digital-Only subscriptions. Our Top Stories and Weekend Reader newsletters will continue to highlight the best of Lion’s Roar each week, but non-subscribers will only be able to access a limited number of stories each month.

I’m a Buddhadharma subscriber. Do I get access to the website?

No, your Buddhadharma subscription has not changed. If your current subscription to Buddhadharma includes digital access, you still have access to the Buddhadharma mobile app and online PDF archive ( using your existing account profile. If you have forgotten your password to these Buddhadharma digital benefits, you can manage your account here.

We are currently working on further developments in our digital content offerings, which may include enhancements to accessing Buddhadharma content online. As soon as we are ready to release any updates you will be the first to know.

I’ve donated to Lion’s Roar. Do I get access to the website?

Donations and subscriptions are both ways you can support Lion’s Roar—thank you!—but they are completely separate and must be treated differently. Lion’s Roar is a registered charity in the US and Canada and we provide a tax receipt.for all US and Canadian donations. Legally, we are not allowed to provide any goods or services (like a subscription) in exchange for your donation. Your donations continue to provide vital support to our efforts, including enabling us to offer scholarships and a range of free content for those whose circumstances do not allow them to pay. Please go here if you would like to subscribe to Lion’s Roar.

How do I subscribe to Lion’s Roar?

You can find our current Print+Digital and Digital-Only subscription offers here

If you don’t want access to our digital products (website, archive, app, etc.) you can order a Print-Only subscription here.

When will I receive my first magazine issue?

Please allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of your first issue. Lion’s Roar publishes on a bimonthly cycle (every 2 months).

How do I renew my subscription?

Print-Only subscribers:

If you are not part of our automatic renewal service, you’ll receive renewal notices by mail and email. You can also click here to manage your account online.

Print+Digital or Digital-Only subscribers:

You’re subscription is set up to automatically renew. If your payment method changed, or if you opted out of our automatic renewal service, you can visit My Account when logged in on to enter a new payment method.

What’s included with my subscription?

Print-Only subscribers receive six issues of Lion’s Roar magazine each year, delivered every second month. 

Digital-Only subscribers get unlimited access to, including the subscriber exclusive e-book library and audio-series library, as well as access to the digital edition of Lion’s Roar magazine in our app, and 15+ years of back issues in our digital magazine archive. 

Print+Digital subscribers receive all of the above benefits.

How do I access the Lion’s Roar mobile app?


With a subscription purchased from the App Store, you do not need to sign in to access your subscription. If you’re having trouble accessing your issues, please tap the setting icon in the upper right-hand corner of the app library and select “Restore Purchases” from the service options.


Download the “Lion’s Roar Magazine” app from the App Store or Google Play. In the mobile app, click on “log in” and select “Existing subscriber”. Enter the email address and password associated with your subscription account. If you’ve forgotten your password, you can recover it by clicking “forgot password” on the login screen on

How do I access the online magazine archive?

Log in on, and navigate to “Magazine Archive” under the “Subscriber” menu. 

Click the “Enter Archive” button and, as long as you’re logged in on, you’ll automatically be granted access and enter the archive.

Can I change to a different subscription plan?

Yes, please contact us for help with upgrading your subscription.

How do I give a gift subscription?

Click here to order a gift subscription online or contact our customer service staff by calling toll free number 1-877-786-1950 or emailing us. A gift card will be sent in the gift giver’s name, if requested.

Gift subscriptions are currently offered for Print-Only subscriptions. Other gift subscription types will be available in the near future.

How do I stop my subscription from automatically renewing?

In order to avoid missed issues, new subscriptions ordered online are set to renew automatically. If you wish to opt out of automatic subscription renewals, please contact us and we can adjust your renewal preferences.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription to either Lion’s Roar or Buddhadharma: The Practitioner’s Guide, please contact us using one of the methods below. 

How do I reset my password for digital access?

Lion’s Roar subscribers:

Navigate to the login window on and click “Forgot password?” Then enter your email address to receive instructions with a link to reset your password.

Buddhadharma subscribers:

You can recover your password by signing in here to manage your subscription profile. You’ll be asked to enter one of the following in order to access your account:

  • Subscription Account # and Zip/Postal Code
  • Email Address and Zip/Postal Code
  • Name and Mailing Address
How do I update my payment method?

Lion’s Roar subscribers:

  1. Log in to and go to “My Account”.
  2. Select the “Cards” tab, and add your new payment method.
  3. Then, under the “Library” tab, click the dropdown next to your current subscription and assign the card you’ve just added to that subscription.

Buddhadharma subscribers:

You can manage your account by signing in here. You’ll be asked to enter one of the following in order to access your account:

  • Subscription Account # and Zip/Postal Code
  • Email Address and Zip/Postal Code
  • Name and Mailing Address
