Beginning February 13, the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art in Atlanta, Georgia, will be showing “The Extraordinary Life of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama: An Illuminated Journey,” an exhibition of original artworks by author and illustrator Rima Fujita.
Fujita has been an artistic contributor to Lion’s Roar, illustrating (for example), the articles, Dharma 101: The Branches of Buddhism, and Andrea Miller’s 2023 editorial, Your Spiritual Ancestors. She was also featured in Nancy Hom’s Lion’s Roar profile, Rima Fujita Has a Dream.
In addition to her illustrations for the book, An Illuminated Journey, the Story of the Dalai Lama, the exhibit will feature Fujita’s extensive interviews with the 14th Dalai Lama, with an eye toward honoring His Holiness in this, his 90th year.
The exhibit will have an opening reception on February 20th and will run through June 7. For more details, visit Oglethorpe’s exhibit announcement.
