Qalvy Grainzvolt
An ordained Shinnyo-en Buddhist priest and meditation faculty at New York University, Chaplain Qalvy Grainzvolt brings warmth, humility, and hard-won wisdom to the practice of caring for ourselves and others. This April, explore best practices for wholeness — drawing on Qalvy’s experiences as a licensed psychotherapist, a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, police chaplain, and the first Buddhist chaplain for the New York City Transit system. His work with first responders and law enforcement has given him unique insight into making mindfulness, compassion, and spiritual care accessible and inviting to all, especially in times of stress and uncertainty.
Join Qalvy each Wednesday for weekly live meditations that cultivate wholeness through reconnection—to ourselves, to others, and to what matters most.
Plus, for Lion’s Roar members: a conversation between Qalvy and Rev. Robert Grochowski on spiritual care and pastoral wisdom. Rev. Grochowski is the highest-ranking American priest in the Shinnyo tradition and a former Catholic priest with decades of pastoral care experience spanning both the U.S. and Japan. That’s on Thursday, April 23.
