Tibetan Buddhist teacher Sogyal Rinpoche, who faced multiple accusations of physical and sexual abuse, has died.
An independent investigation into allegations against the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Sogyal Rinpoche, founder of the Rigpa community, has found that he committed acts of “serious physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.”
Sogyal Rinpoche, Buddhist teacher and author of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, “has decided, with immediate effect, to retire as spiritual director from all the organizations that bear the name of Rigpa in different countries around the world.”
Kyabjé Trulshik Rinpoche Ngawang Chökyi Lodrö, head of the Nyingma order, entered parinirvana on September 2 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
It has been announced that His Holiness Jamyang Lungtok Gyaltsen Rinpoche (Khenpo Achuk, Akhyuk Rinpoche) died on July 23.
